The Surroundings

The name ‘Giafari’ derives from the Arabic word Jaʽfar, meaning in Arabic “small river” or “creek”.
The location of the house was historically known as the “Giafari district”. Close by is a Roman water filtration system that still serves the city today.

Also within easy access of the stunning Ionian coast, the theme of Casa Giafari is inspired by the life and rejuvenation provided by the close by waters.

Set amongst lush Mediterranean greenery and citrus trees, and just one ancient staircase away from the centre of Taormina, Casa Giafari offers a tranquil abode characterized by sophisticated simplicity.

The Interior

Inside the property, renowned local architects have brought together the ancient, aquatic, and urban influences of Casa Giafari in complete harmony.

All the rooms ensue a Mediterranean atmosphere: a calm, kaleidoscopic sensation experienced through natural materials and colors of the sea.

From the external claddings in Italian herringbone terracotta strips, to the tiling from the blue Ponti collection, every element leads back to the destination and ensues the modern Taormina lifestyle.

Andrea and Salvatore Lo Giudice are the brotherly force behind Casa Giafari. With their passion for their hometown combined with a lifelong commitment to hospitality, together they make the perfect team to guarantee a seamless stay.

Andrea Lo Giudice

Following in the footsteps of his father Francesco, Andrea has spent his professional life immersed in the world of hotels and hospitality.

He gained experience at luxury hotels in England and later in Germany where he lived for 8 years.

Andrea has overseen the renovation of Casa Giafari while continuing to hone his hospitality skills at the prestigious Four Seasons San Domenico Palace hotel in Taormina.

Salvatore Lo Giudice

Salvatore is Founder and Managing Director of Sicily Lifestyle, a recognized Destination Management Company, based in Taormina and offering high-level personalized services for international guests.

Salvatore has come together with his brother Andrea on the Casa Giafari hospitality project to actualize his dream of renovating their family property and offering an authentic and unforgettable experience of Sicily to guests from around the world.

Francesco & Nina

Salvatore and Andrea’s affinity for hospitality is in their blood.

They are inspired by their late father Francesco, who dedicated his own life to hospitality and instilled in his sons a passion for the honorable trade.

Nina, herself a local businesswoman, established a well-loved fashion retail business in town, also riding the wave of tourist growth in the city of Taormina.

Salvatore and Andrea have instilled in Casa Giafari the values of family and natural hospitality, a typical southern Italian way of life, which each guest is invited to embrace.
